Log files and personal identifiable information (PII)

Local data protection laws require organizations to ensure that personal data is processed securely. The client is responsible for implementing appropriate measures to ensure the secure processing of personal data.

Clients are responsible for knowing where personal identifiable information (PII) is stored, and securing files that contain PII. Clients must either customize Social Program Management so that no PII is stored on the application log files, or secure log files that do contain PII. Clients must remove any PII from application log files that they share either with IBM, or with any other third party, for customer support purposes.

Clients are responsible for ensuring their own compliance with various laws and regulations. Clients are solely responsible for obtaining the advice of competent legal counsel as to the identification and interpretation of any relevant laws and regulations that may affect the clients' business, and any actions the clients may need to take to comply with such laws and regulations.
